About the Series

The Authority of Ash is not a story about destiny.
It is a story about systems.
About institutions that believe they are stable.
Knowledge that arrives too early.
Authority that delays action — not from weakness, but from calculation.
Across the trilogy:
- The world moves independently of its observers.
- Stability is treated as morality.
- Information becomes more dangerous than force.
- Every decision leaves residue.
You will see everything you need to see.
You just won’t understand it yet.
The Unseen Hand
HAWK exists at the edge of power.
Present — but not central.
Observant — but not decisive.
Useful — but not necessary.
When small inconsistencies begin to surface, no one has language for them.
Not yet.
Trust networks form.
Authority reinforces itself.
Knowledge is treated as progress.
Until the fracture arrives.
And when it does — it is irreversible.
Book I does not reveal the truth.
It reveals how easily truth is misread, especially within the Authority of Ash Book narrative.

HAWK — Book 1
The Authority of Ash Cycle
Ignorance is quiet. Until it isn’t.
The world does not announce its changes.
It shifts, it settles, it waits.
In the city of Garza, an organization known as HAWK monitors subtle disturbances—patterns that most people never notice. They work to protect the Unlit population from pressures they cannot see and forces they would not understand. Notably, these events are central in the Authority of Ash Book storyline.
Artifacts have begun arriving in greater numbers. No one can agree on why.
No one can agree on what that means.
Three factions move carefully within the same city:
- HAWK records.
- FISH listens.
- BEAR endures.
Each believes they understand the moment.
Each believes they can manage what is coming.
Book 1 introduces the city, the factions, and the first signs that something beneath the surface is no longer stable. It is a story of observation before action, alignment before conflict, and the quiet danger of assuming control. Additionally, the Authority of Ash Book explores these themes throughout its trilogy.
This is not a tale of spectacle.
It is a story about pressure.
